Frequently asked questions
How is TIR different from ordinary cross-border trucking?
TIR uses the international road transit convention to simplify border procedures, but eligibility, routes and documents must be confirmed for the actual cargo and border.
What documents are needed for Central Asia or Russia?
Commercial invoice, packing list, customs documents and destination clearance documents are normally involved; TIR routes also require the relevant TIR documents.
Can oversized cargo move by road?
Vehicle type, loading, lashing, height/width limits and border clearance must be assessed in advance; it cannot be handled as ordinary cargo.
